USB Turntable - Unleash your old Vinyl, Convert it to MP3!

I admit it I used to be a bit of a vinyl junkie, a few years ago I just loved the stuff, but nowadays I can’t get enough of MP3’s. So the problem arose… how do I get those great tunes onto my computer with out having to have a sound engineering degree to work out how to connect it all up and clean up the sounds once in my computer. It was while searching for something to make it easy that I discovered the ION USB Turntable.

I got one of these beauties last year and ever since then I’ve been merrily converting my collection over to MP3. Now when I want to listen to a tune its there in my iTunes Library and can be played in an instant, no longer do I need to rummage through hundreds of record to find the one I want! I use it on my Mac, but it also works on PC’s as well and the software really is idiot proof. I’ve just been researching this great product for this blog post and i’m happy to tell you that not only con you get the most excellent ION iTTUSB ( the one I got, see the image above ) you can now get two other models.

The USB Turntable with iPod Dock, is the brand spanking new product from ION, now you can transfer your vinyl straight to your iPod so you don’t even need a computer! You get all the functionality of the one I got as well.

If you want the functionality of the iTT but your not too keen on the contempory design then your in luck because those nice people at ION have you covered with the Classic iTTUSB05, which looks like the sort of thing your Dads had stuck on the top of his 80’s HI-FI! It will convert just as well as the others though so if your not fussed about what it looks like this is the cheapest option.

Now ION is not the only company that makes USB Turntables as I’ve just found out, I personally think they are the best, but you can get a whole heap of other types. The best place to pick up a bargain has got to be eBay below yu should find a selection of current listings of eBay that should show you a few other types of USB Turntables, I hope you can bag yourself a right Bargain!

Its really as easy as pushing one little/big red button and bang you are recording, just point the Flip in the right direction and you can’t really go wrong. Once you have filled up your Flip, you can film for up to an hour with the built in 2GB memory, you just flip up the handy USB connector and stick it into your computer. Transferring your videos is really easy, almost as easy as taking them in the first place! You can even upload them to youtube if you want, really easily.

The Voodoo Knife block is a Knife block with a difference, designed by Raffaele Iannello into the shape of a Voodoo Doll, the twist is that the knifes are stuck all over the poor chap! Not at all, this is the stuff Sci-Fi dreams are made of, let me introduce you to the most fantastic gadget I’ve seen all year! The Vuzix iWear is basically a pair of glasses that have telly’s in them with sound and everything! Just pop them on your head and bang an instant 44″ or 60″ size image appears before your eyes.

They come in three different types, the iWear AV230 with a Virtual Screen 44″ or the iWear AV920 with a 62″ virtual screen size. You can also get the iWear VR920 which has been specially made to use with PC games and utilizes some fantastic technology in that you can move your head and your character ingame will follow your head movement! Technology in’t it BRILLIANT!

The iWear AV230 and iWear AV920 work with all iPods apart from the little shuffles so you can watch films on the move, although i would suggest your not watching while driving or walking, best to just sit still and enjoy your huge tellys in your eyes and let the bus or train driver take care of the movement!
